A Command Performance
More than 220 nurses, crime lab directors, criminalists, healthcare investigators, members of law enforcement, attorneys, FBI agents and other forensic science professionals braved the heat of summer and gathered in June in Scottsdale, Ariz. for our inaugural Forensic Focus West conference. It was four non-stop days filled with fellowship, information sharing and learning, and opportunities to make new friends and catch up with old ones. We’re gratified that you, our attendees, enjoyed the high caliber of our speakers, and that you found practical value in the presentations and workshops.
Encouraged by your enthusiasm and your demands for another event, we will once again present Forensic Focus, but this time we are coming to the East Coast. Mark your calendars for Nov. 4-7, , when Forensic Focus East comes to New Brunswick, N.J., in the heart of the tri-state area. We welcome back some of our most popular speakers, including forensic pathologists Dr. Michael Baden and Dr. Mary Dudley, and introduce you to new experts whose work continues to advance forensic nursing, forensic science and criminal justice. Turn to the official conference brochure on page 11 for more details. Don’t miss the fun and excitement of learning from the field’s best and brightest. Thanks to all of our speakers for a marvelous first conference, and for those of you who weren’t able to attend, here’s a small peek at what you missed (log on to www.forensicfocus.net for the complete photo gallery). I also direct your attention to page 19 for more details on the forensic nursing scholarship opportunity we are offering to help an individual pursue his or her education in this field.
Here’s to advancing the frontiers of forensic nursing!
