
The Forensic Nursing Clinical Update, sponsored by the Carl T. Hayden Veterans Administration Medical Center, was held Aug. 27-28 in Phoenix. The program combined the knowledge and expertise of a multi-disciplinary team of forensic science experts, and addressed death investigation, adverse patient events, and evidence collection in the hospital setting. Presenters included Michael Baden, MD; Bruce Sackman; Brian Donnelly, PhD; David White, JD; Patrick Besant-Matthews, MD: Beatrice Yorker, JD, MSN; John Piakis, DDS; and Janet Barber, MSN, RN, CEN, FAAFS; plus a special panel consisting of Richard Sorensen, William Boutelle, MD, Gary Campbell and Mary Dowling.
